Reviewed for terminology and tone
European Portuguese follows the same localisation pipeline, with native-review wording corrections incorporated and locked before submission.
A clear route for language feedback
Spanish and Portuguese are presented as Beta languages with the established privacy-safe translation-correction route.
Version 1.4 stays the functional baseline
No substantive product feature was added for Version 1.5. Relationship Memory, Practical Details, private sync, backup and Portable Journal v2 carry forward intact.

Build 311 is the current full Version 1.4 release. It completed Relationship Memory with current-value freshness and an intentional Practical Detail history timeline, while sync, backup and Portable Journal v2 preserve the expanded semantics. This is the functional baseline carried unchanged into Version 1.5.
Two-way history, with roles kept clear
Record gifts an ordinary Person received, one or more givers, optional occasion/reason and historical date precision without confusing that history with gifts you gave them.
Current values with an intentional history
Add optional labelled Detail or Avoid values without a fixed questionnaire. Current values can show Updated month/year; Record a change preserves the old value in Previous values, while Correct information repairs an error without creating false history.
Private hiding-place memory
Remember where an outgoing gift is stored from Chosen onward. The value stays out of notifications, Spotlight/App Shortcuts, widgets, Watch and ordinary sharing.
Capture from a photo, even offline
On iPhone/iPad, Camera or a locally available Photo Library image can start an Idea or Hint with no URL required. Save remains explicit.
Generic by default, richer only by choice
Occasion and fulfilment wording avoids private journal detail by default. Richer Person/occasion wording is a device-local opt-in.
Schema 5 + Portable Journal v2
Private Cloud round-trip and documented portable export now represent Person Received Gifts, partial dates, Practical details and Stored at. Portable v1 remains frozen/readable.
Release-candidate completion and corrections
- Practical Detail timeline: multiple Previous values with optional dates, edit/remove history, duplicate-history protection and Person-level Save semantics.
- Relationship direction: People history distinguishes gifts they received, gifts they gave and gifts you received from them.
- Dates: Calendar & date language changes re-render structured dates without rewriting stored values.
- People: owner-centred My circle and Gift givers roles, with matching five-filter menus on iPhone and Mac.
- Languages: English and German stay in parity across the final 2,089 source strings; German remains Beta.

The shared shipping catalog contains German entries for all 2,006 intended source keys, covering the current app rather than a small set of showcase screens.

High-value wording received targeted native review, backed by source, placeholder and plural validation and broad visual localisation checks.
German ships as Beta
An in-app translation-correction route makes it easy to report wording that can be improved while the German experience continues to mature.
Built for future languages
The Version 1.3 localisation workflow becomes the reusable foundation for later language expansion, with priorities remaining demand-led.

Start with what you already remember.
The new Help me think experience is designed for the moment when you know the person well but still need a direction. It draws from the relationship memory already in the journal — clues, current context, themes and history — and keeps the reasoning visible.
- Journal-first: the starting point is your own saved memory, not a generic product feed.
- Explainable: suggestions show the clue or context that led to the direction.
- Deliberate: exploring a direction does not silently add or change journal records.
Version 1.2 keeps this experience local and explainable, with Protected content excluded from thoughtful synthesis.

Midnight Cobalt & Platinum Chrome joins Champagne & Smoked Quartz, Velvet Plum & Rose Quartz, and Alabaster & Pale Mineral as the fourth theme. It keeps the same hierarchy, selection and status language while giving the journal a deeper, cooler visual character.

03 · System integration
Your journal, closer to the system.
Version 1.2 adds an optional, privacy-first layer for Spotlight Search and Apple Shortcuts on iPhone and iPad. The goal is faster access to the journal without turning private journal detail into system-wide search data.
- Spotlight Search: open approved People and saved-item destinations directly from system search.
- Apple Shortcuts: reach Quick Capture, Open Wishlist, Open Person and Help me think as deliberate actions.
- Privacy-first: the integration is optional; protected content and private journal detail are not indexed, and shortcut actions keep the normal review, privacy and Save boundaries.
System-wide Spotlight ranking remains controlled by Apple; the app controls only its own eligible indexed destinations and shortcut actions.

04 · iPhone Duo enhancement
The journal adapts without losing your place.
Version 1.2 extends the adaptive iPhone work for Duo-capable layouts. The interface responds to the scene width and safe areas instead of treating the device as a separate app, so the same journal can move naturally between compact and wide presentations.
- Route-preserving: resizing or changing presentation keeps the same person, record or review context.
- Wide-scene friendly: the journal can use more of the canvas when extra width is available.
- Capture across apps: split workflows can bring a Safari product link into Quick Capture for review before saving.
Adaptive presentation is driven by the available scene width, safe areas and system bars rather than a separate device-specific app target.
